I love those verses from James as they have had an impact on how I "plan" things. When I was 13, my 12 year-old sister was killed in a car-bicycle accident just a few months after our family had moved 2000 miles to a new state. She and I both had committed our lives to Jesus a couple of years earlier, so I had the comfort of knowing not only where she is, but that I will see her again. That was in 1969, and two passages of scripture became very important to me after this incident: Romans 8:28 and James 3:13-14. Thank you for the gentle reminder of just who is really in control of our futures, no matter what the circumstances may be. Blessings to you for 2025!
I am so sorry you had to go through that with your sister's death. That kind of pain is something that stays with you forever. I am so grateful she knew the Lord. It's so easy to get complacent and think we have all the time in the world. No one is guaranteed tomorrow. Thank you Jeff for sharing your situation and your words of wisdom, I appreciate it!
Thank you for your very kind words, and I pray it will encourage someone somewhere. When you know Jesus as Lord and savior, all things are accepted in His love.
