Praise God for his comfort and sustaining power when a season of loneliness overtakes us! That Bible verse about God drawing near when we draw near to him (James 4:8) seems especially true when we're feeling alone. He's so good to us!

I agree, James 4:8 is wonderful! What a promise that God will draw near to us when we draw near to Him! Thank you for reading and commenting on this devotional!

I am so sorry this has happened to you Janet. Unfortunately, I'm sure you are not the only one that this has happened to. For representing Christ, Christians can sure make a lot of hurtful mistakes. Finding a church home and family is not easy. I pray that you are able to find one soon. For all the hurt you have been through, I have to say that your idea of seeking out those who have "fallen through the cracks" is a wonderful idea. There is no one better to minister because you know how it feels. I commend you for doing it! Also, helping and being kind to others helps our souls as well.

I pray you have a merry Christmas if for no other reason than Jesus became a baby to eventually provide a way for our salvation! That is reason to celebrate!

I so appreciate you reading and sharing your heart in the comments, that means a lot!
