Here's another quote that helps us see prayer in its proper place of importance: "Nothing is more important to God than prayer . . . God's great movements in this world have been conditioned on, continued, and fashioned by prayer. . . Persevering prayer always wins"--E.M. Bounds, The Weapon of Prayer. I read that, and feel encouraged to press on!
Nancy, that's a great quote. Most people don't realize the power in prayer. I think sometimes, we take it for granted. Thanks so much for taking the time to make such a thoughtful comment!
Love this. People say , "prayer changes things," but it actually changes people. My heart grows more tender toward the person I'm praying for. My prayers tie me to other's troubles and draw the focus away from own needs .
Praying is foremost…casseroles are good too! The only smart thing that Job’s friends did was sit quietly with him in his misery for a week. It devolved after that. Pray and be there for people!
As a Southerner, food is the first thing that comes to mind in a situation like that. It's hard for me to "just pray" when someone says that's all they need. Thanks for the reminder that prayer is powerful and God's miracles are better than a casserole. ❤️

Love it Jeff, good comment!
Oswald Chambers ("My Utmost for His Highest") said, "Prayer does not prepare us for greater works. Prayer IS the greater work."
Thank you so much for including this quote. Very good.
I've read his writings for over 40 years, his wisdom is deep.

Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment Michelle, you're right, it's a Southern custom to bring the food! :)
So true! Thanks for the reminder. I've seen the power of prayer in my friend's life this week and it's such a beautiful thing.
What a great testimony - thanks Sarah for taking the time to comment so you can encourage others!
