I love this title! I remember my mom saying that exact thing when I was a kid. Also funny you talk about getting behind slow drivers because I remember her saying one day “am I the only one who has anywhere to be?” Ha. You are right that we want people to be understanding towards us but we get frustrated with them. I was rude at the grocery store the other day about how “slow” the quick self check is because of all its prompts. Later I felt so ashamed of my witness when I was irritated and mumbling. Thanks for the reminder.
We've all been there. I get impatient so easily and yet, I want patience from others so often. It's definitely a struggle. Thanks so much for reading and commenting, it's great to hear from people!
You are so right, Kate: "It is easier to be patient when we have empathy and compassion for others." I'm so thankful that my parents taught me empathy--to put myself in the other person's shoes. NOT that I've always responded with perfect patience as an adult, but their training certainly helped!
Now it seems the world wants to teach the kids to think of themselves first, to make sure you get all you are entitled to, etc. I appreciate you reading and being a part of the conversation!
Thanks for reminding me: when we realize the Lord's patience with us, we grow in patience with others. I also find praying for others needs produces a patience in me I didn't know I needed.
I can see that too. I think I have more patience with my loved ones but struggle when dealing with things like traffic or selfish people. I won't pretend that I have it all worked out yet! We're all works in progress.

This is speaking straight to my heart, Kate! Thanks, as always!
Thanks for this beautiful reminder.

Thanks... I tend to be a pretty impatient person! Okay... very impatient.
haha - me too!

so true about praying for others.
Boy, I needed this reminder, today.
I really needed that prayer yesterday, when I failed miserably at patience. Thank you and Amen.
That's why I'm so glad His mercies are new every morning. Today is a new day to reset and do better! Thankfully we have a God who is forgiving!
My patience has grown as I've gotten older. I've had to actively work at it though. It sure came in handy when my kids were little!
For me, as I've gotten older, my patience gets smaller. I have to work harder at it.

Great reminder Kate!
