Sarah was ushered into her Endocrinologist’s exam room for her 3:00 appointment. The nurse told her the doctor was running late.
Since she often had long wait times at this office, she didn’t think much of it. She called a family member to pass the time.
At 5:15, she decided to open the door because she could no longer hear voices or telephones. She soon discovered they had forgotten her. Apparently, everyone had gone home for the day.
Thankfully, I’ve never experienced being left at the office after everyone has gone home. But, I have waited in waiting rooms where I wondered if I had been forgotten because it was taking so long.
What about you, have you ever been forgotten while waiting?
When we have given God a prayer request, and we are waiting for His answer, sometimes it can feel like He’s forgotten us.
Answers to prayers can take weeks, months, or even years.
Our patience is tested when we can’t understand why God isn’t answering right away.
Thankfully, we are never forgotten.
His ways are higher than ours. We can’t see the bigger picture and all the moving parts, but we know He’s working for our good. (Romans 8:28)
Isaiah 55:8-9 (NKJV)
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts.
We can be assured that He has never missed our prayer, gotten too busy, or forgotten us. He is well aware of everything going on in our lives, and we can have confidence in His timing.
Dear Lord, give me patience when I am waiting for your answer.

I’m waiting right now. Please pray for me as a seek Him and eliminate all the noise so I hear Him alone.
I did get forgotten once. Three hours. I suspect they went to lunch totally forgetting I was there. God does not forget. He is always there. Even when we don’t want to hear from Him.
