Devotional: When You Feel You're Not Good Enough
Don't believe Satan's lie, the Bible gives us the truth.
“You are not good enough to be loved by God,” is just one example of a lie Satan uses to discourage Christians.
Satan would like to convince us that God can’t or won’t love us because of who we are or what we’ve done.
Whether we’ve committed what we think is a “big” sin or many “little sins,” we have all sinned. No one is perfect. (See Romans 3:23)
God’s love is not based on anything we’ve done but on what He’s done.
Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty before we had the opportunity to disobey.
He knew all our future transgressions, and He died for us anyway.
Romans 5:8 (NKJV) “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
He died for every person who would ever live. (See John 3:16)
We will never be perfect until we reach heaven.
God loves imperfect people. Many prominent individuals in the Bible made some major mistakes.
At one time in his life, David had an affair with a married woman and then had her husband killed. (See 2 Samuel 10-12)
Even one of Jesus’ disciples, Peter, ended up denying Jesus three times right before His crucifixion. (See Mark 14:66-72)
God loves all of us. We are made in His image. (See Genesis 1:27)
We are saved because we believe in Christ alone, through faith alone, not by our works, whether they are good or bad. (See Ephesians 2:8-9)
Knowing God will always love us, does not give us a license to sin knowing He will forgive us.
God hates sin. We will not want to continue sinning if we truly love the Lord. (See Romans 6:1-2)
John 14:15 (NASB) “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.”
A Christian can rest assured that the Bible clearly states God's unconditional love for us. (See 1 John 2:1)
Don’t let Satan’s lies take up space in your mind; leave room only for God’s truth.
The more of His flesh I eat and blood I drink (the Word of God) the less I hear the deceiver. I do like the odd hamburger though. Lol.
Thanks - a very good subject!
For those who don't believe that they are "good enough" to be healed, I refer you to 1 Kings 13:1 - 6. (Read the previous chapters to see how bad this king was.)
What God has to say about us is The Truth, not our feelings or our opinions.
If God has to wait until we are good enough to work in us, would anything ever get done? We aren't required to be faultless, only blameless!
