I needed to read this again today. Thank you. And it dovetails nicely with my priest's message yesterday - God gives many talents but few are realized because of fear.
I told God, "... I didn't seek or ask for such an honorable position!" He replied, "...well, who better!" No matter what your calling, YOU are exactly who is needed. The quicker you embrace his call, the quicker your reluctance and misgivings will drop away.
Amen and amen! I am a testimony of how God can use you when he calls you to do something great for him and you feel unequipped. and how he equips the called!
Thank you for this encouragement. I have several chronic illnesses and my husband has been my main caregiver for years. Now he is being treated for pancreatic cancer and the rules have changed. It's a struggle for me. I want to be there for him but sometimes my body rebels. On top of that, I have been working on a children's book for several years and of all times it is now ready to go to print. Marketing fall largely on the author nowadays.
Thank you for this reminder that it is Good who does the work not me.
I am so sorry you and your husband are going through this. It affects both of you. God knew all this would be going on in your life when it was time for the book to go to print (even before you started writing it). So, there has to be a purpose for it. If God called you to write that book, He has a plan for it in spite of all the obstacles going on right now! Keep trusting His strength and ability! Thanks for reading and sharing in the comments!
God has called me to start a blog and podcast, and I’ve had these feelings of doubt and unworthiness. Imposter Syndrome has been a struggle for me. Thank you for sharing. You’re nudging me towards acting on what God has called me to do.
Michelle - that is so exciting! You are going to do great! Personally, I think doing a podcast is fun. You can be yourself, you can be less formal than writing. There are so many different types of blogs and the possibilities are endless! Plus, you can use your blog post material to do your blog so it isn't developing something from scratch. Podcasts are the thing right now and Substack makes it soooo easy to start and maintain your podcast. I still have a lot to learn but I enjoy doing my podcast. I know you can do it, not because I know you, but I know the God who called you to do it. :)
This is so true! I have never enjoyed being the center of attention anywhere and as I prepare for my first book signing, I pray. “Lord, you will give me joy and may you be Glorified by the book that you have written. I can’t do this without you! 🙏.
I am so happy for you and your new book. You are right, He has brought you to this point and He is going to continue to use your words for His purposes. You are going to do great at your book signing! People will see Jesus through you. When is the book signing?
Saturday April 20th. 2-4. My dad passed away in July 3rd 23, just as the manuscript was completed but sadly before it was published. I was able to add some more writings and dedicated my book to my dad. 🥲. My book signing is in my hometown and he would have been the first there had he still been with us. He will be missed! I am bringing a picture of him to place on my table and will read the dedication page before signing any books. I pray for strength, courage and humility. Oh course, God receives all the Glory!
wow - it's in a few days! And it will be full or such happiness but some sadness too. God will give you the strength to do this. Let's hope it is the first of many events for your book. I pray the happiness will overshadow the sadness while you are doing the event. I'm so sorry for your loss, that must be extremely difficult.
Well, praise God. It's never the words we write but God who uses them to speak to people. Thank you for writing this comment, it certainly does this writer's heart good to hear it! God bless you Ray.
That's kind of funny, Moses went from speaking in front of sheep to speaking in front of Pharoh - that would be intimidating! Thanks for reading and commenting - I appreciate it!

glad it spoke to your heart. I've had to read it several times since I wrote it. :)
Amen and Hallelujah! I pray for wisdom constantly, that I might remain in His will.
God doesn’t call the equipped, he equips the called!
So true Jana!
The call to adventure never looks easy. If it did, it wouldn’t be an adventure ;) That’s what faith is for.
I like that Selina, thanks for reading and commenting!
Amen! Thank you for ministering to my soul, Kate!
