What Are Christians Supposed to Do While We Wait for the Rapture?
What does it mean to “occupy” until He comes?
Unless you are living under a rock, you know the world is changing. We see increasing political corruption, wars, famines, natural disasters, and sickness.
Matthew 24 describes what it will be like in the last days, so none of this should surprise Christians.
We do not have to be confused about where our world is heading.
World events sometimes make me anxious. After all, we don’t know exactly what Christians will face before the Lord returns.
When He comes back, I want Him to find me living in obedience.
Luke 19:13 (KJV) “And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.”
How do we occupy until He comes?
1 Peter 4:7-11 gives us direction:
1 – Use sound judgment
Be aware of what is happening in the world. Many don’t pay attention to politics because they don’t think it affects them. This is not true. Currently, the nations are working together to establish a new world order. It will affect every person on the planet.
2 – Be in prayer
Pray for the lost. Pray for wisdom and courage as we navigate these times.
3 – Love each other
1 Corinthians 13 gives us a description of what it means to love others. The Bible says love covers a multitude of sins.
4 – Use your spiritual gifts
Every believer has a gift (1 Peter 4:10). We must use our gift and be wise with how much time we’ve been given to serve the Lord.
Conclusion
There is no need to fear, but be aware of the spiritual battle around us. Now, more than ever, we need to be focused on God and His Word.
Do you know what spiritual gift you’ve been given?
Are you being obedient to His call on your life?
If you aren’t sure what He’s called you to do, spend time in prayer; the Holy Spirit will reveal it to you.
Dear Lord, let me faithfully serve you with all my heart. Help me to use my time wisely in service for you.

Beautiful devotional Kate! Am taking it to heart. 🙏🏻
1 Cor 13 is a passage about agape love, that universal spiritual love between Yahweh and His bond-servants, and returned. The humanistic love of others is only possible when we truly possess agape for our Father in Heaven.
