Have you ever had a loved one involved in a medical emergency where you were very worried?
That describes my last couple of days.
My husband has been very sick for almost two weeks, and we have yet to figure out what he has or how to help him get better.
I am a worrier. Yes, I am well aware the Bible says not to worry. (See Matthew 6:34)
Sometimes, no matter how hard I try, worry overwhelms me.
I am a person who likes life to flow at a continuous, even pace. Anything to disrupt my routine tends to throw me off.
As I sat in the emergency room with him for countless hours waiting on IV’s, test results, etc. I repeated this verse over and over in my head.
Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them. – Psalm 139:16 (NKJV)
God has planned every day of our lives before one of them ever happened.
Nothing takes God by surprise. He knew before I was ever born how difficult today would be.
I also know that tomorrow is another day. Whether it is easier or more difficult, God’s in control of it too. He’s in control of the rest of my days, however many more I have.
To help with days like today, I created a list of major times in my life when God has spared my life or helped me through a major life crisis.
It reminds me of all He’s done and what He will continue to do.
If I had to create a list of times God let me down, the page would remain blank.
It’s never happened and it never will.
Knowing this helps me to trust Him and settle my heart.
What are you worried about today?
Read verses to help ease your soul. Pray and ask God to help you with your worry.
I encourage you to make your own list of times God has gotten you through major life trials and keep it handy for those days you need a reminder of His faithfulness.

In Him we trust, not circumstance. Take heart from Job. I love your heart Kate.
