Overwhelmed?
Do you have a problem so big you feel overwhelmed and at a complete loss on how to deal with it?
I know the feeling. My physical health started to decline rapidly in my 30’s. I went through many doctors searching for a diagnosis and cure. Eventually, I wasn’t physically able to work full-time and had to quit my job. The dream of working in my field abruptly ended.
The fatigue and pain are difficult to bear as it affects every part of my life. My health situation encompasses me mentally and physically.
What are you facing today?
What do we do when our problems are too big?
The Bible gives us the first step:
“So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:34 (NASB 1995)
It directs us to focus on today.
We take the first step and put one foot in front of the other.
We breathe in and breathe out.
We don’t try to handle everything at once.
We don’t dwell on the “what ifs”.
There is an appropriate saying, “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.”
Dealing with our problems requires perseverance and endurance.
Unlike a TV sitcom, most problems aren’t solved in 30 minutes. Some last a lifetime. Unfortunately, there is no cure for my chronic illness but the Lord has helped me deal with the daily struggles.
When you are overcome by life’s problems, remember the Lord’s mercies are sufficient for each day.
Lamentations 3:22-23 “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning. Great is Your faithfulness.”
Dear Lord, help me to get through today. Help me with the tasks right in front of me. Help me give You my heavy burdens. Help me to trust You for tomorrow and the days after.
What is amazing is that even in the midst of our chronic challenges, God still enables us to have a Godly impact on the world and those around us. He is not limited by our trouble. You are living proof!
Thank you....as to your illness....yes....there is a cure. I have seen God heal and He will heal. He is just waiting for you to ask...and not waver.
