One Year Closer to the Lord’s Return
Let's encourage each other with the fact the rapture can happen anytime!
As we close 2023, I want to encourage you with a few thoughts.
Like most of you, this past year has brought many trials and challenges for me and my family.
The Bible tells us as we get closer to His second coming, times will grow perilous.
2 Timothy 3:1-5 (NKJV)
”But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!”
Every day, we are fighting a spiritual battle as God allows evil to become more prevalent.
Ephesians 6:12 (NKJV)
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
Make no mistake: God is in control and fully aware of everything the forces of evil are up to. God has never and will never relinquish one bit of His sovereign power.
Having said that, it doesn’t mean Christians won’t face hard times.
I want to bring you encouragement. With each passing year, we are closer to the Lord’s return.
1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 explains the rapture in glorious detail:
The Lord will descend from heaven with a shout, the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God!
The dead in Christ will rise first.
Christians will be caught up together with them in the clouds and meet the Lord in the air where we will be with the Lord always.
This makes me smile and get excited; I hope it does the same for you!
Friends, we need to encourage each other with these words, just as 1 Thessalonians 4:18 instructs us to.
Are you eagerly anticipating His arrival?
Are you ready?
I’m hoping it happens in 2024!
Awaiting His return, Kate
On Twitter I used to follow someone who woke every morning and typed, Come, Lord Jesus, come. I liked that and sort of adopted it from time to time.
Thank you Kate...needed this. Merry Christmas!
