Has someone let you down recently?
Has someone not followed through with what they promised?
People often let us down. The closer they are to you, the more it hurts.
Over time, we get jaded. I know I have.
I spent over twenty years in the Human Resources field working with employee conflict. So many people lied to me that I quickly became skeptical of everything people said.
We can’t trust the news.
We can’t trust our government.
We can’t trust strangers.
We can’t even trust the weatherman! (ok, it’s not all their fault)
Thankfully, there is One whom we can trust. I mean really trust with everything.
“The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.” Psalm 9:9-10 (ESV)
Did you catch that? The words “have not forsaken” means never.
If we seek the Lord, He will not abandon us. It’s a promise to hold on to.
How do we know? The Bible tells us God is perfect and cannot lie.
“so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us.” Hebrews 6:18 (ESV)
We have a sure thing in which to place our trust!
“And also the Glory of Israel will not lie or have regret, for he is not a man, that he should have regret.” 1 Samuel 15:29
Is there something in your life that you need to trust God with?
What’s holding you back?
He’s waiting for you with open arms.
He’s trustworthy.
