How Do I Find the Answer to my Problems in the Bible?
It was written so long ago, how is it going to clearly answer my situation?
I wish I had studied the Bible more in my younger years.
I wish I had a better understanding of what everything meant.
Now I realize His Word contains the answer to every one of my questions in life.
Even though the verses don’t say, “Kate, you should…” the answer is there.
How is that?
The Bible instructs us
how we should be living
the characteristics we should have
and the way we should treat others
The Bible tells us what our character should be loving, patient, and honest (just to name a few).
It tells us how to treat others by being kind, faithful, and gentle (just to name a few).
The Scripture gives us examples to follow. We are to have courage like Daniel, conviction like Paul, and forgiveness like Joseph (just to name a few).
It says we are to
trust God
believe in His sovereignty
have faith in His promise of eternal life
If we apply these principles to our current situations, God will help us know how to deal with whatever we may face.
Are you searching for answers today for the circumstances in your life?
If you need to fall in love with reading the Bible again, I recommend the book of Psalms.
The Psalmist describes so many of the emotions we deal with today. It’s easy to understand and it will touch your heart!
Here was my prayer this morning:
God,
Open my eyes to see what you want me to see.
Open my ears to hear what I need to hear.
Open my heart to change whatever needs changing.
Help me to grow in You.
Amen
God speaks to us through His Word. If you aren’t experiencing that, ask God to help you. He wants us to read and understand it.
For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12 (NKJV)
It’s exciting to think the God of the universe wants to speak directly to you through His Word!
What are you waiting for?
Spend some time in the Scriptures today!
I am loving getting into the word, actually opening up a physical Bible, and reading for my personal time in the morning and after dinner with my husband. I love Jesus and want to know Him more and more!
Good write. We often down to see what our situations are doing to us long-term. He tells us to diligently seek him in his word. That’s why we write on this forum. The best lessons come from diving in. Thank you for your faithfulness. Keep it up.
