Everyone can relate to feeling lonely at one time or another.
A person can feel alone when they are by themselves or in a crowd of people. One can experience it in a house filled with family. It can even be found in a sanctuary full of Christians.
It is often accompanied by the feeling of being invisible. There is hesitation in sharing problems because no one would care.
Take note of five scriptures promising you are never left alone. They reassure our hearts God is always with us.
Hebrews 13:5b-6 (ESV)
“for he has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’ So we can confidently say, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?’”
Job 36:7a
“He does not withdraw his eyes from the righteous…”
James 4:8
“Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.”
Matthew 28:20b
“And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Joshua 1:9
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
All through scripture, God demonstrates how He is in control and working for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28). He cares about each individual and their wellbeing. This doesn’t mean we do not experience hard times, it means God will help us through them.
He promises if you make an effort to draw near to Him, He will draw near to you.
Dear Lord, thank you for never leaving me alone. Please help me to feel your presence in my heart today.
