As So Many Stop Attending Church, Here’s Why You Should Stay!
4 Reasons attending in-person services can benefit you!
Churchgoers are noticing more empty seats on Sunday mornings.
Many have decided to watch online or just leave the church altogether.
Hebrews 10:24-25 (NKJV) tells us not to give up meeting in person:
“And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.”
This subject is close to my heart.
I live with a chronic illness that keeps me away from church many Sundays when I don’t feel well.
It leaves a hole in my heart to miss out on so much.
There are so many benefits to being a part of a church family:
1 - The development of close relationships.
2 - The laughter and tears of sharing life’s ups and downs.
3 - The growth as a Christian through studying the Scriptures in small groups.
4 - The encouragement from spending time together over food and fellowship.
While I wish I could go more, many Christians have become disheartened with regular church attendance.
Maybe they think the music is too old-fashioned or the sermons are too boring. Maybe they’ve been hurt before.
I believe one of the reasons for the decline is that we are fighting a spiritual battle.
Ephesians 6:12 (NKJV) “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
Satan is working overtime trying to change the worldview of Christians and steer people away from the church.
Now, more than ever, believers need each other.
Can you be a true believer and not be part of a church? Of course.
The Bible never says attending church is a requirement for salvation.
God designed the church, and its importance to Him is laid out throughout the New Testament.
Church attendance is a matter between a Christian and God. As always, He knows the heart.
