When a caterpillar breaks out of its cocoon, a brand new creature emerges - a beautiful butterfly!
2 Corinthians 5:17 tells us when we give our hearts to Christ, we are a new creation! God changes us from the inside out!
We are filled with the Holy Spirit. His love transforms us in the deepest parts of our souls.
We don’t react to people and situations like we did before.
Here are three ways His love affects us:
God’s love compels us to love each other.
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
John 13:34 (NKJV)
We want to serve others. Jealousy, bitterness, and hatred no longer have a permanent home in our hearts.
God’s love allows us to forgive each other.
Then Peter came to Him and said, ‘Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?’ Jesus said to him, ‘I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.’
Matthew 18:21-22 (NKJV)
God commands us to be generous with forgiveness. This is only possible with an abundant outpouring of God’s love.
God’s love makes us want to share the gospel with others.
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you;
and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria,
and to the end of the earth.”
Acts 1:8 (NKJV)
Your life is impacted in such a way you want others to know and experience the gift of salvation you’ve been given.
These are only a few of the many changes that continue in the growth process of the Christian heart.
May we have a renewed sense of purpose and commitment to serving Him today as the Holy Spirit renews our minds.
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:1-2 (NKJV)
Very well-written! Thank you.
Amen! God's unconditional love changes lives!
