Today is the day during Passion Week when Jesus had the Last Supper with His disciples.
He knew the next day, He would die a horrible and painful death on the cross to pay the price for our sins.
Two days later, He would conquer death and be raised from the grave. He created a way for us to be saved from the penalty of sin.
Has Jesus’ death and resurrection changed your life? I mean really changed your life? Has it given you a new meaning, a new purpose, a new outlook?
Three ways salvation reshapes everything for you:
Your sins are forgiven. Not just forgiven, they are forgotten never to be held against you again!
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9 (NASB 1995)
By grace, you are saved. There is no way to earn this gift, it’s given through faith.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9
You will spend eternity in heaven. You will have a personal relationship with the one true God.
“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.” John 5:24
Just because you believe there is a God does not mean you are saved. James 2:19 tells us even demons believe in God.
Just because you are a good person or go to church does not mean you are saved.
If you have just been going through the motions of Christianity without a real salvation experience, God wants to change your life from the inside out.
If you want to surrender and let God transform your life completely:
Pray to God with the understanding you are a sinner in need of a Savior.
With a belief in God, ask Him for forgiveness and salvation.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
Let Jesus take control of your heart! Don’t stop there, read the Bible and find a church to help you grow in your faith.
Undone knowing that my peace came at such an indescribable, incomprehensible cost - His punishment... His life.
